SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to particles of starting material for making agglomerate, a method of producing particles of starting material for making agglomerate, as well as an agglomerate obtained by firing or sintering such particles, a method of producing agglomerate and a method of producing reduced iron. Particle of initial material is intended for production of agglomerate and represents particle of initial material for production of agglomerate used as raw material for production of reduced iron. Initial material particle includes a central part and a peripheral part which covers the periphery of the central part. Central part includes a metallic iron-containing substance or a substance with a mass reduction degree of 90% or more at 1000 °C, peripheral part includes iron oxide and central part has particle size of 2 mm or more and 6 mm or less. To obtain a particle of initial material, raw material containing iron oxide is pre-ground into raw material powder, raw material powder is classified, mixing and granulation of raw material powder, metal iron-containing substance or substance with degree of weight reduction by 90% or more at 1000 °C and binder.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at preventing reduction of temperature inside the furnace, inhibition of reduction reaction and deterioration of reduction efficiency.
