SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Single pass automated blood collection system includes reusable hardware component and a pre-assembled disposable fluid circuit component, including an access device, a source of anticoagulant, a device for separation of blood into concentrated erythrocytes and plasma, a first container for receiving concentrated erythrocytes, preservative solution source and a second container to receive plasma. Reusable component comprises a first clamp for controlling interaction between donor access device and blood separation device, scales, connected to first container for collection, and a programmable controller configured to close first clamp in response to signal from scales, indicating that first container for collection comprises a pre-set amount of erythrocytes. Invention discloses a method for single-step blood collection and separation, automated system for collection and separation of whole blood.

EFFECT: invention provides automated blood collection and processing.
