FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to machine parts, and can be used in multistep gear assemblies with large-diameter wheels lubricated by dipping. Gear box contains a casing with an oil bath; lower gear wheels of different gear steps are submerged in the liquid lubricating material in the oil bath. Part of the volume of the oil bath where lubricating material can be located and which is excessive to ensure optimal lubrication of transmission elements is substituted with a set of tight rigid shells of regular shape, for example spheres or cubes, that have air inside under atmospheric pressure. Volume of the oil bath occupied by the shells is limited by a grid fitted into the housing of the gear reduction and having a size of cells that is less than the size of one shell. Grid is rigidly fixed in the housing of the gear reduction. Shells are made from an oil-and-petrol resistance material.
EFFECT: lubricating material saving.
