FIELD: machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: oil bath contains a body with liquid lubricant, which portion is excessive to provide normal lubrication of a gear, and is replaced by an insert of foreign material inert relative to the lubricant material which is rigidly fixed in the bath body providing the required gaps between it and the gear elements. The insert is arranged in the bath body plan by adjoining to its bottom and walls along the body perimeter. The upper surface of the insert is profiled, which concave sections are equidistant around the circumference and the ends of the lower portions of the lower portions of the gear wheels of all the gear stages. Said concave portions of the upper surface form a volume sufficient to accommodate the amount of lubricant therein which provides normal lubrication of gears and immersion of the underlaying gear wheels of all gear stages. And the convex sections of the insert upper surface exceeding the upper level of the lubricating material in height are made with inclination towards the concave sections of this surface.

EFFECT: improved lubrication quality.
