FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, in particular, to railway vehicles brake pads, for example, cars, electrical trains and other rail transport brake pads. Braking pad comprises composite friction element, metal frame and flat side surface. On part of flat side surface, corresponding to pad part not abradable during operation in metal frame area, two grooves are made.
EFFECT: possibility to visually define minimum allowed thickness of pad during entire pad service life, as well as preventing operation of pad beyond permissible thickness and enabling timely pad decommissioning, besides, obtaining possibility of determining timely pad removal in case of its wear with misalignment.
