FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a control device for an internal combustion engine. Sensor for determining concentration of oxygen in exhaust gases or in an air-fuel mix with an element of a solid electrolyte, a side electrode of exhaust gases located on one side of the element of a solid electrolyte and being in contact with exhaust gases, an atmospheric side electrode located on the other side of the solid electrolyte element and being in contact with the atmospheric air, and an electric circuit feeding the reference voltage between those electrodes, is located in the outlet pipe of the engine. Sensor for determining concentration of oxygen in exhaust gases or the air-fuel mix has a characteristic, according to which output current (Ip) continues to increase without the field of limit current, when voltage (Vs) applied between the electrodes increases, while the ratio of components in the air-fuel mix is constant. Ratio of components in the air-fuel mix is controlled basing on output current (Ip) of the sensor for determining concentration of oxygen in exhaust gases or the ratio of components in the air-fuel mix.

EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of accurate control of components in an air-fuel mix.
