FIELD: ship building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to underwater vessel ice breaking method by means of bending-gravity waves excitation in ice in vessel motion with resonance speed. Method consists in wave resistance increase due to increased temperature of water under ice cover. At that, vessel is moved under ice with heating elements previously installed on upper deck, for time, during which she passes through distance not less than two lengths of resonance flexural-gravity waves. Then vessel is turned for 180°, heating elements are disconnected and moved in reverse direction with resonance speed.
EFFECT: invention ensures increasing of breaking ice thickness.
