SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a device for cutting filtration materials. Method for cutting filtration materials in tobacco industry, in which by means of a drum conveyor, on the circumference of which there are grooves, a filtration material in the form of filtering rods is supplied to a rotary blades unit; the filtering rods are cut by means of the rotary blades into segments in the grooves of the drum conveyor in the area under a guide wall for the filtering rods; herewith the rotary blades are cooled in the area behind the guide wall. Device for cutting filtration materials in tobacco industry comprises a unit of rotary blades equipped with a guide wall for filtering rods to guide the filtering rods moved in grooves of a drum conveyor, herewith in the area behind the guide wall there is a cooling unit designed to decrease the temperature of the rotary blades by means of a cooling medium.
EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of cutting a filtration material with high speeds and without deterioration of physical characteristics of the filtration material while providing simplicity of the design.
