SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing multi-segment rod-shaped industrial products in a device for manufacturing multi-segment rods or segment rods. The method includes the steps of feeding rod-shaped segments that make up a multi-segment rod-shaped product; assembling the rod-shaped segments together into a chain of segments on the wrapping material; manufacturing a continuous segment rod or multi-segment rod containing rod-shaped segments wrapped in the wrapping material, with the segments pressed together or voids left between the segments; and cutting a continuous segment rod or multi-segment rod into multi-segment rods or segment rods containing any combination of rod-shaped segments, double rod-shaped segments, and half rod-shaped segments, in this case, during the cutting of a continuous multi-segment rod, the multi-segment rods or segment rods are moved in the longitudinal direction; then, the direction of transportation of the multi-segment rod or segment rod changes from the longitudinal direction to the transverse direction and the attachment of the segments to the multi-segment rods or segment rods transported in the transverse direction, in the end segment attachment device adapted for the manufacture of multi-segment rod-shaped products. The method is characterized in that after changing the direction of transportation of a multi-segment rod or segment rod from the longitudinal direction to the transverse direction and before attaching the end segment in the measuring unit, the quality control stage of the manufactured multi-segment rods or segment rods is performed and the defective multi-segment rods or segment rods are rejected, the multi-segment rods or segment rods are then fed to the compensation unit to store the multi-segment rods or segment rods and to compensate for the rejection of the multi-segment rods or segment rods, after which the multi-segment rods or segment rods are fed from the compensation unit to the end segment attachment device so that the end segment attachment device continuously receives the multi-segment rods or segment rods.
EFFECT: elimination of interruptions in the production process on the filter gluing machine and elimination of machine clogging.
