FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for reducing the stress of setting tape in a machine for the tobacco industry for making rods from a continuous rod containing filling material in a wrapper. The continuous rod is formed on setting tape put in operation in the setting channel of the setting device, while the setting device has a section for placing the material for filling, a section for setting the diameter of the rod and a section for stabilizing the rod. The machine includes at least one feed unit for feeding the material for filling onto the wrapper moved on setting tape, an adhesive supply unit, a cutting head for cutting the continuous rod into rods, and includes regulation of the resistance to movement of setting tape by reducing the resistance to movement of setting tape in the section for placing the material to be filled by adjusting the positions of the guide rails for guiding setting tape in such a way so that the width of the setting channel in the section for placing the filling material is greater than the width of the setting channel in the section for setting the diameter of the rod and/or reducing the resistance to the movement of the setting tape in the section for stabilizing the rod by adjusting the positions of the guide rails for guiding setting tape in such a way so that the width of the setting channel in the rod stabilization section is larger than the width of the setting channel in the rod diameter setting section.
EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring a reduction in the rejection of the rod-shaped elements during production, in particular the rejection caused by the inappropriate length of the rod-shaped elements.
