FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for detection and analysis of deposits in a system containing liquid. Invention consists in that the method involves emission of, at the first stage, ultrasonic transducer for ultrasonic emitted signal in the direction of the reflecting section, recording, at the second stage, by recording device of ultrasonic reflected signal obtained as a result of reflection of ultrasound emitted signal in the area of reflecting section, determination, at the third stage, of distribution of transit time of the recorded ultrasound reflected signal depending on the given variable and analysis of, at the fourth stage, distribution in order to detect at least partial deposition of deposits on the reflecting section.

EFFECT: enabling detection of deposits and higher accuracy distinguishing among different types of deposits and less dependent on operating conditions.
