FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to selection of grain crops. Method involves aseptic cultivation of seedlings on hungry agar (2 %) (control) and agar with addition of 15 mg/l of aluminium ions and hydrogen (pH 4) (stress conditions). Invention represents method for assessing stability of grain crops to ion toxication with aluminium, involving cultivation of aseptically obtained seedlings on hungry agar 2.0 % in common (control) and stress conditions, created by addition of 15 mg/l aluminium ions in form of Al2(SO4)3⋅18H2O to hungry agar acidified to pH 4.0, where evaluation process is carried out using special scale by visual comparison of root system of seedlings by complex morpho-topographic features and deformations of root system under stress conditions, with appropriate score, and stability group, and differentiation of genotypes into highly stable – 5 points, stable – 3–4 points, sensitive – 0–2 points: highly stable – 5 points – reduced length of main root no more than by 50 % of agar column height; presence of roots of second order; total amount of roots is no less than 60–80 % of control; preservation of spatial orientation of root; absence of root deformations; stable – 4 points – reduced length of main root no more than by 50 % of agar column height; absence of roots of second order; total amount of roots is no less than 50–60 % of control; preservation of spatial orientation of root; absence of root deformations; stable – 3 points – reduced length of main root by more than 50 % of agar column height; total amount of roots is no less than 50 % of control; preservation of spatial orientation of root; absence of root deformations; sensitive – 2 points – reduced length of main root by more than 70 % of agar column height; total amount of roots is less than 50 % of control; violation of spatial orientation and deformation of root; sensitive – 1 point – reduced length of main root by more than 70 % of agar column height; total amount of roots is less than 30 % of control; violation of spatial orientation and deformation of root; sensitive – 0 points – no roots.
EFFECT: invention allows to bring condition of assessment to natural growth conditions, lower production costs, simplify evaluation and obtain objective data without using statistical apparatus.
