FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method for assessment of wound surface readiness for plastic closure using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is proposed. The method includes quantitative determination of DNA copies of St. Aureus (MRSA), St. Epidermidis (MRCoNS), Ps. Aeruginosa, Kl. Pneumoniae, E. Coli, as the most important species of bacterial infection pathogen. The bacterial pathogen content is determined in one milliliter wound secretion. If the value of each bacterial pathogen content is less than 500 copies/ml, wound readiness for plastic closure is concluded.
EFFECT: method allows reliable assessment of wound readiness for plastic closure and can be used in clinical practice to assess the effectiveness of complex therapy and wound readiness for plastic closure.
