SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video decoding. A method of decoding a video signal includes: obtaining a reference image index from a bit stream; obtaining a spatial candidate vector for displacement on a spatially adjacent block relative to the current block; selecting an associated image, relating to a temporal candidate displacement vector of the current block, based on the reference image index; obtaining a temporal candidate displacement vector of the current block on the associated block, wherein the associated block is included in the associated image; generating a list of candidate displacement vectors, comprising a candidate spatial displacement vector and a candidate temporal displacement vector, determining a displacement vector predictor based on the list of candidate displacement vectors and the current block candidate index, wherein the candidate index indicates one of candidate displacement vectors, contained in the list of candidate displacement vectors; determining the displacement vector of the current block using the displacement vector predictor and the difference of displacement vectors and obtaining prediction samples of the current block using the displacement vector and the reference image of the current block.

EFFECT: method enables to efficiently decode video.
