FIELD: image-processing device.

SUBSTANCE: method includes steps of: selecting a reference image for a current block using a reference index of a current block, determining a reference block in the reference image using the motion vector of the current block, forming reference samples in a reference block, wherein forming reference samples includes determining a first sub-sample based on an interpolation filter for horizontal interpolation and a shift operation using a first shift value, wherein the interpolation filter for horizontal interpolation is applied to the whole sample in the reference image, and determining the second sub-sample based on the interpolation filter for vertical interpolation and the shift operation using the second shift value, wherein interpolation filter for vertical interpolation is applied to first sub-sample, and second sub-sample is one of two samples in quarter-pixel position and sample in semi-pixel position, aligned vertically under first sub-sample, and obtaining prediction samples of current block by using reference samples, wherein interpolation filter coefficients for vertical interpolation, determined for each of said two samples in quarter-pixel position and sample in semi-pixel position, are different from each other, and the first shift value is determined based on the brightness component bit depth, and the second shift value is a fixed value.

EFFECT: technical result is improvement of efficiency of video data encoding and decoding.
