SUBSTANCE: invention relates to strengthening processing the metals by using concentrated energy flows, in particular to obtaining surface layers on the technical titanium VT1-0 with a gradient multiphase structure. The method includes pulse-periodic impact on the surface of technical titanium VT1-0 by the high-current electron beam with the electron energy of 10…30 keV in the argon medium with the residual pressure of 0.02…0.03 Pa, the absorbed energy density of 10…30 J/cm2, the pulse width of 100…150 mcs and the pulse number of 1…3.
EFFECT: increasing the working resource of the machine parts and mechanisms operating under multi-cycle fatigue failure.
