FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: tests for change of the initial parameter due to properties of the surface and subsurface structure created during manufacturing of hard alloy cutting material. Reference wear resistance tests are performed during cutting of the materials resulting the intensive adhesion wear and tear under optimal or close to optimal cutting speed. The reference correlation curve "wear resistance - initial parameter" is plotted. Static monitoring of input parameter value only is performed for current batch of carbide cutting tools, and forecast of wear resistance is made for current batch of the carbide tools - all based on relationships. The input parameter is reversible plastic component of depth of penetration of nanoindenter in the surface and surficial region of complex carbide grain, with its rise the wear resistance of the carbide cutting tools of applicability group K increases.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and reduced labour intensity during forecast of the wear resistance of the hard alloy cutting tools.
