FIELD: telluride glass.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing highly pure telluride glasses with a chemical composition specified with high precision and a low content of oxygen impurities, which are promising materials for the manufacture of lenses, optical windows and optical fibres operating in the spectral range of 2-20 mcm. The method for producing especially pure telluride glasses involves loading a charge consisting of tellurium and germanium into a reactor, melting the charge with a component that binds an oxygen admixture, distilling the glass-forming melt into a charge receiver, homogenizing it, quenching and annealing the glass. When distilling a glass-forming melt, tellurium is first distilled into a separate section of the reactor at a temperature of 500-600°C, then germanium(II) telluride is distilled into the charge receiver at a temperature of 725-800°C, then tellurium, distilled into a separate section of the reactor, is distilled into the charge receiver at a temperature of 500-700°C.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of the chemical composition of telluride glasses and reducing the content of oxygen impurities in them, which makes it possible to obtain materials with specified physical and chemical properties and high transparency in the spectral range of 2-20 mcm.
