FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: children with Infectious mononucleosis, caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and bacteria are surveyed to determine the presence or absence of a solid fur on the child's palatine tonsils. The saliva is examined, where the concentration of IFN-γ is determined in pg/ml. In the presence of a solid fur and IFN-γ<7.5 pg/ml or in the absence of a solid fur and IFN-γ<3.0 pg/ml, a severe form of infectious mononucleosis caused by EBV and bacteria is diagnosed. In the presence of a solid fur and IFN-γ≥7.5 pg/ml or in the absence of a solid fur and IFN-γ≥3.0 pg/ml, a medium-severe form of infectious mononucleosis caused by EBV and bacteria is diagnosed.
EFFECT: application of the invention allows to eliminate invasiveness and shorten the time of diagnosis, and provides an opportunity to diagnose the severity forms of infectious mononucleosis caused by the Epstein-Barr virus and bacteria.
