SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to sound generation. In particular, the present invention relates to sound generation for an aerosol generating device, performed using a micro-electromechanical system (hereinafter – MEMS), and to corresponding user interfaces and methods. MEMS can be used for the generation of high-quality sound in the aerosol generating device. MEMS sound generator can compress air for sound generation, using a set of setters on a set of frequencies. Sound can imitate sound of one or more of usual options of using smoking materials, imitate masking noise or contain information. Generated sound can be modulated based on a puff performed by a user. For the configuration of the aerosol generating device, a user interface can be provided.

EFFECT: provision of improved imitation of sound generated by smoking material.
