SUBSTANCE: invention is a voltammetric method for determining the total cholesterol content in biological objects, including the preparation of an indicator electrode and voltammetric determination of the cholesterol content, characterized in that an anodic voltammetry is carried out on an indicator carbon-containing electrode previously modified with 2,6-diacetyl-N-2,4,6,8-tetraazabicyclo [3.3.0] octane-3,7-dione-diphosphonic acid, in the range of potentials from +0.32 V to +1.52 V with respect to the saturated chloride-silver of auxiliary electrode and a reference electrode in the form of a stepped potential scan at a rate of 0.05 V/s.
EFFECT: simplification of preparation of working electrode and the possibility of receiving a signal directly from cholesterol.
