FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed to use fat composition to preserve the improved palatability of dog food, with the exception of drink and beverage, when stored for at least 8 months in the suitable container at room temperature. The weight ratio of the fat acids amounts C12:0/C10:0 in the fat composition is from 0.85 to 2.5 and/or the weight ratio of the fat acid amounts C14:0/C12:0 is 0.45 to 4.3. The method for producing the fat composition contains mixing of the fat with the composition ingredient, enhancing the palatability. The method for producing the animal feed, having the improved palatability, stored in the suitable container at the room temperature for at least 8 months, includes adding of the fat composition to preserve the improved palatability and/or fat in the animal feed preparation. At that in the fat composition, in order to preserve the improved palatability and/or fat, the weight ratio of the fat acids amount C12:0/C10:0 is from 0.85 to 2.5 and/or the weight ratio of the fat acids amounts C14:0/C12:0 is between 0.45 and 4.3. The kit for preserving the improved palatability of animal feed contains in one or more containers, in the single package, one or more fat compositions to keep the improved palatability in which the weight ratio of C12:0/C10:0 fat acids amounts is from 0.85 up to 2.5 and/or the weight ratio of the fat acids amounts of C14:0/C12:0 is 0.45 to 4.3; and optionally, at least one ingredient of the animal feed.

EFFECT: preservation of the animal feed improved palatability for a long time.
