FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: during operation, the temporal muscle is separated from the scales of the temporal bone, the large wing of the sphenoid bone, and the infratemporal crest. At that, it is dissected from the temporal fossa to the level of the large wing of the sphenoid bone. Craniotomy is performed in the fronto-parietal-temporal area with access to the lateral sections of the middle cranial fossa from the intracranial side. An oscillating saw is used to saw out a part of the skull base, including the large wing of the sphenoid bone with the infratemporal crest, which are laterally folded together with the attached temporal muscle.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce postoperative complications, which is achieved due to the above methods, allowing to preserve temporal muscle blood supply.
