SUBSTANCE: drinking device (2) comprises a water-holding trough (4), a water supply system (6) in fluid communication with the trough (4), made with the possibility to be connected to a water source (8). Also, the device includes an electric power consuming water level control system (24) comprising a controller (26) and at least one water level sensor (28, 32, 34) made with the possibility to determine the water level in the trough (4). The drinking device for animals comprises an electric power plant comprising an electric generator (36) and an electrically chargeable unit (38). Wherein the water level control system (24) is connected to the electrically chargeable unit (38), and the electric generator (36) is connected to the water supply system (6). The electric generator (36) is made with the possibility to be actuated by water from the water source (8) and the charge of the electrically chargeable unit (38).
EFFECT: possibility of using a drinking device in a place without power connection.
