FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: in a mass cytometer system, a tissue sample marked with a plurality of metal markers is supported on a coded substrate to generate a distribution profile by laser ablation. The groups of elementary ions from each plume, generated by each laser pulse, are detected by a mass cytometer and the data is mapped in accordance with the coded substrate.
EFFECT: configuration allows to construct a three-dimensional distribution profile of a plurality of metal markers in a tissue sample.
