FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: casting mould 1 is in the form of pack of rods which form through holes (Z1-Z3) of the cast billet (M) connecting the two outer sides of the cast billet. The rods are made of moulding material which is hardened by means of binder decomposing under temperature action. The mould is heated in a furnace (O) to a temperature, under which the binder loses its binder effect. Hot gas (H) is passed through furnace passages (D1-D4) made in the rods having a temperature corresponding at least with the temperature, under which the binder loses its binding action. A casting core forming the through hole (Z1-Z3) in the casting, is decomposed into fragments (b) or onto separate sand particles falling on sand bed (SB) as the result of the hot gas action.
EFFECT: accelerated extraction of rods from the casting.
