SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ICE timing system with camshaft cam variable profile. Claimed method consists in adjustment of electromechanical drive for actuation of cam profile changeover mechanism. Drive is controlled at first level without valve displacement. Drive is controlled at second level without valve displacement in response to increased potential for valve displacement. Drive is controlled at third level that causes valve displacement. Second level is located between first and third levels. Invention discloses versions of described method for engine.
EFFECT: higher reliability at high engine rpm.
