FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: two mesh prostheses are cut from a sheet of polypropylene mesh in the form of rectangular plates of 6-8 cm, length, corresponding to the length of diastase. Petals with a width of 2 cm and a length of 3-4 cmare cut out in one of the long sides of the plates. The prosthesis is fixed with loop sutures to the back surface of the sheath of rectus abdominis muscles. The edges of the aponeurosis are brought together. The petals are fixed to the front sheets of the sheath of rectus abdominis muscles on the opposite side, forming a "zipper" interdigitation. The subcutaneous tissue is diked. The wound is sutured in layers.

EFFECT: method of surgical treatment of diastasis of the rectus abdominis muscles provides reconstruction of the anterior abdominal wall, allowing it to participate effectively in the respiration process, due to the fact that the mesh prostheses have sufficient dimensions for reliable fixation and a relatively small area which contacts with the subcutaneous tissue, reducing the risk of development of undesirable complications.
