FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to smoking article (10) comprising tobacco rod (12) and a filter, the filter comprising filter unit (14) comprising first segment (16) of the filter material; second segment comprises tubular element (18) of filtering material upstream relative to first segment (16). Tubular element (18) has outer diameter (D2) and inner diameter (D1). Inner surface of tubular element (18) is substantially airtight. Second segment additionally comprises brittle or irreversibly compressible flow limiter (24) located in tubular element (18). When flow limiter (24) is substantially intact or uncompressed, filter unit (14) has a first RTD. When flow limiter (24) is destructed or compressed, filter unit (14) has second RTD, wherein second RTD is smaller than first RTD.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to facilitate consumer selection of one or the other smoking mode, to effectively control delivery of TAR, as well as RTD of a smoking article.
