FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: analyzed cell components, cells, tissues or organs are labelled with fluorescent probes. The probes consist of biological recognition molecules and fluorescent dyes emitting in the infrared region of the optical spectrum. Then, the dyes fluorescence is excited by infrared radiation and their fluorescence is recorded. As fluorescent dyes, semiconductor nanocrystals (PbS/CdS/ZnS, CuInS2/ZnS, Ag2S), fluorescing in the infrared spectral range are used. In this case, a fluorescent signal from semiconductor nanocrystals is recorded 5-50 nanoseconds after excitation of their fluorescent signal.
EFFECT: invention allows the target to be visualized within the biological sample or living organism being studied by increasing the contrast of the resulting image and increasing the detection sensitivity of targets labelled by fluorescent probes.
