FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for sulfanilamide (streptocide) preparation, purified water and technical sulfanilamide are loaded into the reactor, the reaction mass is heated to a temperature of 75±10°C at pH 6.0-8.0. Further, clarifying coal is loaded into the reactor, followed by heating at stirring to a temperature of 95±15°C and keeping for 10-30 minutes. Then the reaction mass enters the crystalliser, is cooled to a temperature of 20±5°C and kept for 1.5-2.0 hours. At the end of keeping, the obtained paste is squeezed on the centrifuge, washed in purified water, transferred to drying, which takes place at a temperature of 105±15°C to the residual moisture content in sulfanilamide of not more than 0.5%.

EFFECT: product obtained meets the standards and requirements of the State Pharmacopeia, edition XIII, and can be used in the pharmaceutical industry for manufacture of both non-sterile and sterile ready-made dosage forms containing sulfonamide.
