FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of organic chemistry and represent method for producing potassium orotate. Reactor is charged with 2 % aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide and orotic acid, reaction mass is heated with stirring to 25±8 °C and allowed to stand for 1.0–2.0 hours; Activated carbon is loaded into reactor, it is kept at 25±8 °C and stirred for 20–40 minutes; mixture through filter is transferred to the crystallization reactor; 18 % chlorohydric acid solution is added to the reaction mass to pH of 5.0–6.0; mixture is crystallized at a temperature of 20–25 °C and stirred for 1.0–2.0 h; resulting paste is whizzed, washed with water, dried at 65±10 °C to a residual moisture content of not more than 0.5 %; conduct recrystallization of the paste with purified water at 95±5 °C and maintained for 10–30 minutes; mixture is cooled to 20±5 °C and allow to stand for 1–2 hours; paste is whizzed, washed with water, dried at 65±10 °C to a residual moisture content of not more than 0.5 %.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of obtaining potassium orotate of compendial grade with an increase in the yield of the finished product.
