FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method of locating defective insulators is that two electromagnetic sensors and connected electronic oscilloscopes are rectilinearly moved at a distance from each other Ls along the route of the high voltage transmission line. Distance between sensors Ls are calculated by global GPS or GLONASS navigation systems. Using time synchronization receivers simultaneously and with the same speed of the horizontal sweep to electronic oscilloscopes write voltage waveform during the propagation time of electromagnetic pulse from the sensor to another τs=Ls/ν, where ν the speed of propagation of electromagnetic pulse. On each of the recorded oscillograms, the time of occurrence of voltage pulses is calculated Δti (i=1… n, i - is the pulse number, n is the number of pulses on the first waveform) and Δt1j (j=1… m, j - is the pulse number, m is the number of pulses on the second oscillogram), the time of appearance of pulses on the first and second waveforms alternately are summed pairwise tk=Δti+Δt1i (k=1…n⋅m). Of all times tk choose that time tγ, which is equal to the time τs, and the corresponding summands forming the sum tγ, is denoted as ΔtA and Δt1B. Based on the known distance to the first electromagnetic sensor xs1 and time ΔtA determine the distance to the location of the defective garland of insulators xdef by the expression: xdef=xs1-ΔtAν.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of location of the defective garland of insulators.
