FIELD: monitoring systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to security monitoring methods and can be used in cases of using a single passive optoelectronic detectors for alarm control of tracks passing through the terrain with high vegetation or with other conditions hampering the deployment of detectors outside the track. Method consists in controlling the bending of the track by one detector deployed in such a way that it is located on the outside of the angle of the bend of the track at a distance of 1–2 meters from it; in orientating the detector so that a section of its detection zone with a length of more than 10 meters and a width of at least 0.2 meters is above the track; recording a desired detector signal for the entire time its operation in alarm mode; application of the algorithm for determining the direction of the intruder's movement relative to the detector by the nature of the change in the level of the desired signal: level of the desired signal increased – the intruder moved toward the detector; the level of the desired signal decreased – the intruder moved away from the detector; detector transmits a signal about the direction of the intruder's movement to the information collecting and processing system. Method includes a preparatory stage with deployment of the detector according to a developed scheme on the bend of the track, and the main stage which begins with the detection of the intruder and ends with the formation of an output about the direction of the intruder's movement through the bend of the track.

EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining the possibility of determining the direction of motion of the detected intruder using only one detector.
