SUBSTANCE: method of tracing the route of an automatic vehicle relates to methods of organising movement of automatically controlled vehicles and can be used in any sector of the economy for automated transportation of various goods and passengers. Method for tracing an automatic vehicle traveling route in which continuous synchronous scanning of a roadway with road markings is carried out by at least two linear photosensitive devices (LPD) mounted on a gyrostabilized platform in a vehicle, located at a given height above the roadway and accordingly directed to two different sections of the roadway located at two different distances from the vehicle, respectively near and far, positioned in space and tied to their position relative to the roadway. Obtained images are converted geometrically and mathematically. Based on image comparison results, the spatial shape of the roadway is determined.

EFFECT: improving the quality of tracing and subsequent control of the vehicle on the roadway in the presence of interference.
