FIELD: lighting engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting and physiology of human vision, in particular to providing most energy-efficient lighting of rooms, territories and spaces, provided mesopic adaptation of human eye. For this, method involves use of one or more LED monochromatic light sources. In this case, lighting is conducted with dominant wavelength λ = 507 (+/-10) nm at brightnesses of illuminated objects in interval from 5 * 10-3 up to 5 cd/m2 (CIE 191:2010), corresponding to mesopic adaptation of human eye.
EFFECT: method ensures inclusion of human mesopic vision mechanism when information is perceived by both rod and cone retina photoreceptors.
