HIGH-CURRENT SOURCE OF ION BEAMS BASED ON OF ELECTRON-CYCLOTRON RESONANCE DISCHARGE PLASMA HELD IN OPEN MAGNETIC TRAP Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC H01J27/18

Abstract RU 2649911 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forming a high-current ion beam by its extraction from a dense ECR discharge plasma created in an open magnetic trap by powerful radiation of a millimeter wavelength range. High-current source of ion beams based on of electron-cyclotron resonance discharge plasma held in open magnetic trap, it contains magnetic system for creating magnetic field of the mirror configuration with intensity sufficient for formation of zones inside ECR discharge chamber, system for formation and extraction of ion beam from plasma, containing plasma electrode and accelerating electrode. In output of accelerating electrode is magnetic ionic lens in the form of solenoid whose magnetic field is selected in such a way that its focal length is equal to distance from lens to hole in accelerating electrode.

EFFECT: possibility of forming high-current ion beams with low emittance and minimum divergence angle.
