FIELD: construction materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of ceramic materials from quartz ceramics with increased bending strength, which makes it possible to manufacture ceramic screens for instruments of different purposes and refractory ceramic products. Method of obtaining quartz ceramics involves the manufacture of an aqueous slurry of quartz with a density of 1.75–1.86 g/cm3, the formation of blanks by the method of casting into gypsum molds, drying of raw billets for at least 24 hours at room temperature, subsequent heat treatment. Heat treatment is carried out in a graphite heater unit at a temperature of 1,300–1,400 °C for 0.2–1.0 hours in a vacuum of 0.7–1.5 mm Hg at a heating rate of no more than 10 deg/min, after which it is cooled from 1,300–1,400 to 1,000 °C with a cooling rate of 5–10 deg/min followed by inertial cooling. From quartz grains prepare a water slip with a density of 1.75–1.83 g/cm3, and from the battle of quartz glass with a density of 1.79–1.86 g/cm3.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is an increase in the mechanical strength (bending strength) of quartz ceramics obtained by slip casting.
