SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding/decoding. Method for encoding a single image comprises the steps, on which the first image and the second image are arranged to form a single image, with the first image corresponding to a first type of video signal with a number of views, and with the second image corresponding to a second type of video signal with a number of views; information indicating how said first and second images are combined into said single image is generated, with the generated information indicating that at least one of said first image and the second image individually is mirrored in one or more of the horizontal direction and the vertical direction; and said single image and said generated information are encoded to form a bitstream.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of encoding/decoding a single image by generating/receiving information, that indicates the way several images are combined into a single image.
