FIELD: video encoding and decoding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a means for encoding and decoding video. A video image is accessed, which includes a plurality of images combined into one image. Information is accessed indicating how to combine multiple images in the accessed video. The video image is decoded to provide a decoded representation of at least one of the plurality of images, and accessed information is provided as well as the decoded video image as output. Some other embodiments format or process information that indicates how to combine multiple images included in one video image into one video image, and format or process an encoded representation of the combined multiple images.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the efficiency of video coding.
