FIELD: video encoding.
SUBSTANCE: video image is accessed that includes a plurality of images combined into one image, the plurality of images including a first image of a first kind of multi-view video and a second image of a second kind of multi-view video. Information is accessed indicating how a plurality of images are combined in a video image, this information indicating that at least one of the plurality of images is individually mirrored in one or more of a horizontal direction or a vertical direction. This information is contained in at least one of: a part header, a sequence parameter set, an image parameter set, a network abstraction layer block header, and an extension additional information message. The first image of the first kind is not mirrored, and the second image of the second kind is mirrored, the first image of the first kind and the second image of the second kind being located side by side or one above the other. The video image is decoded.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of video coding.
