SYSTEM AND METHOD OF JOINT TRANSMISSION IN LICENSED AND UNLICENSED RANGES WITH USING OF FOUNTAIN CODES Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC H04L1/00

Abstract RU 2652418 C1

FIELD: means of communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to joint transmission means in licensed and unlicensed transmission ranges. Transmission of various subsets of coded burst generated from the same traffic stream in respective licensed and unlicensed ranges, can provide bandwidth efficiency in addition to ability to generate a more reliable and sustained data flow. Transmitting point can code traffic stream using fountain code to obtain coded bursts and then transmit different subsets of coded bursts to respective licensed and unlicensed ranges. Fountain code can be applied at physical layer, at the layer of media access control (MAC), at radio channel control layer (RLC) or at application layer. Appropriate subsets of packages can be transmitted in licensed and unlicensed ranges at different speeds. In respective ranges, different code rates may be used.

EFFECT: technical result is to maintain given bandwidth for traffic stream, with improved bandwidth utilization by multiplexing coded packages depending on their transmission rate.
