FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used to treat odontogenic diseases using laser photodynamic singlet oxotherapy. At the first stage of treatment, access to the area of inflammation is formed. At the second stage, pathologically altered tissues are treated, affecting the area of inflammation through laser radiation. Radiation source is a laser pulse module operating in a quasi-continuous nanosecond mode. Module is placed outside the inflammation area at a distance of 1–2 mm. During operation, the module generates bursts of nanosecond pulses within 45–50 seconds in the form of two harmonics with pauses one after another with wavelengths of 756–764 nm and 1262–1272 nm. Radiation power is 1–3 W. Amplitude of the radiation power is in the range from 50 to 65 W for each channel. Pulse duration of the harmonics is 10–100 ns. Duration of the pause between harmonics pulses is 15–20 ns. Duration of the bursts of pulses is 4–20 msec. Treatment is carried out every other day for 8–10 sessions, each lasting no more than 5 minutes.
EFFECT: method provides for an increase in the effectiveness of treatment due to exposure to laser radiation at wavelengths corresponding to the local oxygen absorption peak of tissues, with the release of endogenous singlet oxygen.
