METHOD FOR COMPLEX THERAPY OF PERIODONTIUM DISEASES BY LASER MICROSURGERY AND SINGLET PHOTOTHERAPY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61N5/67 A61B18/20

Abstract RU 2696228 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, is intended for use in treating various periodontium diseases using laser microsurgery and singlet phototherapy. Performing professional oral hygiene, forming access to the area of inflammation, treatment of pathologically changed tissue with the help of laser radiation, source of which is a diode laser operating in nanosecond mode with wavelength ranges of 1,255–1,275 nm. Laser radiation is carried out in two stages: at the first stage, contact laser therapy is carried out in the treatment of periodontal pockets in nanosecond pulse mode in range of 200–400 ns and total radiation power of 350 J/cm2 per one session by dipping the optical light guide into the pocket throughout the depth of the treated area, wherein average radiation power is 1 W and treatment is carried out for 1 minute. That is followed by second-phase non-contact laser therapy in the nanosecond pulsed radiation mode in 500-900 ns range and total radiation power of 200 J/cm2 every second day for one session at a distance of not more than 3 mm for 1 minute every other day for 10 visits.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to accelerate both treatment of a complex pathology, and to accelerate tissue regeneration, and also to create conditions for stable remission.
