SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a capsule with an improved sealing element, capsule cover, method and system, comprising device for preparing beverages from said capsule. Capsule (1) for preparing a beverage in a brewing device, comprises hollow body (3), including inlet wall (4), lateral wall (5) and flange rim (6), having upper side (10) and lower side (11), and sealing element (12) located on the upper side of said flange rim, lower side (11) of flange rim (6) comprising at least two portions (13, 14) that lie on two or more planes (Q, P), that are at different levels with respect to capsule axis (A-A) and form space (20) on the lower side of the flange rim. Capsule (1) for preparing a beverage in a brewing device, comprises hollow body (3), including inlet wall (4), lateral wall (5) and flange rim (6), having upper side (10) and lower side (11), wherein lateral wall (5) extends between inlet wall (4) and flange rim (6), wherein upper side (10) of flange rim (6) is closer to inlet wall (4) than lower (11) of flange rim (6), and sealing element (12) located on the upper side of said flange rim, characterised by that, lower side (11) of flange rim (6) comprises at least two portions (13, 14), lying in two or more planes (Q, P, P'), located at different levels relative to capsule axis (A-A), said different levels providing at least one space or cavity (20) on the lower of the flange rim, located opposite the sealing element, for receiving a portion of flange rim (6) during compression of sealing element (12) located on said flange rim, said sealing element (12) being spaced from lateral wall (5) of the capsule body, wherein said lower (11) of flange rim (6) comprises first portion (13) of said at least two portions (13, 14), extending from said sealing element (12) to said outer edge of the flange, and second portion (14) of said at least two portions (13, 14), which includes at least a portion of said sealing element and extends to lateral wall (5) of the capsule body, wherein plane (P) of said second portion (14) is closer to capsule inlet wall (4) than plane (Q) of said first portion (13) of the flange, to provide said cavity, wherein the cross-section of said sealing element (12) has the shape of a triangle or truncated triangle, whose sides extend from said flange rim (6), wherein said cavity (20) extends above said plane (P) of said second portion (14) into sealing element (12) in the form of a triangle or truncated triangle.
