SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, namely, to plant growing. Method includes presowing complex treatment of seedlings with protective-stimulating substances, which use aqueous solutions of biologically active substance Biofit 1® with a concentration of 1.4⋅10-3 g/l and sodium selenite with a salt concentration of 0.5⋅10-3 g/l. In the ground, rice husks containing a large amount of magnesium (up to 781 mg/100 g) are preliminarily introduced. Apply drip irrigation and mulch, consisting of milled dry reeds and rice husk in a ratio of 3:1 in the arid zone.

EFFECT: method allows to increase adaptation and resistance to drought, yield of stevia by 20–40 % and improve the quality of the leaves.
