Briquette, which is used for the production of mineral wool, consisting of raw material, the binder for the raw material and the activating agent, which accelerates the process of curing of the briquetted raw material, where the raw material includes wastes of mineral wool production, which have fibrous morphology, coke fines and dried biomass, and the binder for the raw material is a non-fibrous inorganic binder, such as sodium silicate. In the method for manufacturing the above-mentioned briquette, the raw material is mixed with the binder for the raw material in order to form the briquette, which is cured using the activating agent, where the non-fibrous inorganic binder, such as sodium silicate, is used as the binder for the raw material, the used raw material includes mineral wool waste products, which have fibrous morphology, coke fines and dried biomass.
