FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to flow meters and in particular to ultrasonic flow meters with a passage time. According to the invention, a method for determining a fluid flow rate in a fluid conduit is provided. During the signal generation phase, the pulse signal is applied to the first ultrasonic transducer. Response signal is then received on the second ultrasonic transducer. Measurement signal is then obtained from the response signal, while the reception involves reversing a portion of the signal with respect to time. During the measurement phase, the fluid moves with respect to the fluid conduit. Measurement signal is then fed to one of the two measuring transducers, and the response signal of the measurement signal is measured on another transducer. Flow rate is obtained from the response signal of the measurement signal.

EFFECT: technical result is the improvement of the signal transit time in the flow meter.
