FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Metal is fed into a one-piece mold. Form the blanks with the liquid core and simultaneously draw it from the integral mold into a detachable mold. In the detachable crystallizer, several preforms connected by bridges are formed. First, the walls of the ingot shell are bent by the calibrated projections of the walls of the mold in a direction perpendicular to the axis of movement of the ingot. At the same time, the four walls of the shell of each billet are clamped together, displacing the liquid phase. Then, simultaneously, each blank is squeezed by dividing projections along two mutually perpendicular directions, followed by separation into separate blanks.
EFFECT: productivity of the continuous casting process is increased due to the simultaneous production of several blanks.
