FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Controller controls the direct injection engine. Engine contains a fuel injection nozzle and a valve closing period adjustment mechanism. Nozzle provides direct fuel injection into the cylinder. Mechanism for adjusting the closing period of valves provides adjustment of the valve closing period between the intake valve opening period and the discharge valve opening period. Controller comprises an acceleration request sensor configured to detect an acceleration request from the driver. When an acceleration request comes in and when the temperature of the top surface of the piston in the cylinder is a temperature, at which the liquid fuel adhering to the upper surface of the piston is transported in the liquid state to the subsequent cycle, the valve closing period increases. Valve closing period occurs between the intake valve opening period and the discharge valve opening period, which lasts until the top dead point and after the top dead point. Temperature of the top surface of the piston in the cylinder is determined based on the measured value of the coolant temperature sensor. Engine control method is described.
EFFECT: technical result is to prevent the increase in the amount of solid particles during acceleration when the temperature of the upper surface of the piston is low.
